Pricing questions

What counts as an "entity"?

An entity is any separate set of books you manage - a company, subsidiary, client, location, or property. Each entity has its own chart of accounts, transactions, and financial statements.

Can I change plans later?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to more entities. When you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, every plan includes a 14-day free trial. You add a card to start, but you are not charged until the trial ends and can cancel anytime before then. You get full access to all features during the trial period.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and can arrange ACH transfers for annual plans on Growth and Enterprise tiers.

Do you offer refunds?

We offer a 14-day free trial so you can evaluate EmLedger before you are charged. After that, fees are non-refundable except as described in our Terms of Service.

What happens if I exceed my entity limit?

We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit. You can upgrade to the next tier at any time. We won't lock you out - we'll just prompt you to upgrade when adding new entities.

Can I use a retail plan for my clients' books?

Retail plans (Solo, Starter, Growth, Scale) are licensed for entities under your own common ownership or management. If you keep books for third-party clients, that runs through the EmLedger Partner Program, which gives you revenue share or wholesale pricing and client-management tools. Past three entities the app asks you to confirm once that your entities are commonly owned, so expect that prompt.

Is there a discount for annual billing?

Yes! Annual billing saves you approximately 17% compared to monthly billing. That's like getting 2 months free.

Do non-profits or educational institutions get discounts?

Yes, we offer special pricing for registered non-profits and educational institutions. Contact us for details.
